Homecoming football game 2014
By Meghan Senik
Friday,
September 26th was the night our homecoming game took place, and it
was an eventful one. The game was played by our very own North football team,
against Riverside’s football team.
The night started off with a pregame performance from the North High Marching Band and Concert Choir, featuring this year’s homecoming court. The marching band played our Fight Song and God Bless America with pride. Then they got to take a break as the concert choir sang our Alma Mater and the Star Spangled Banner with their graduated Alumni.
The performance continued with the marching band playing “Desperado” by The Eagles while this year’s homecoming court walked down the field, waiting for the winner to be announced. Chip Gordon and Hallie Crow earned their crowns. The performance ended with the marching band forming the tunnel, joined by their graduated Alumni to finish the show with another performance of the Fight Song.
The marching band played the song “Take It Easy” by the Eagles for the halftime show. After they finished the
song though, their graduated Alumni marched onto the field with them to play “Knock on Wood” by Eddie Floyd, and “R.O.C.K. In The U.S.A.” by John Mellencamp.
Unfortunately, North lost that night, and Riverside was victorious. Riverside finished the game with 42 points, leaving North with 26 points. It was a disappointing loss, but did not dishevel the excitement for homecoming the next day.
