This year September
1, 2015 at North High there were just about 65 Students to donate for the Red
Cross Blood Drive. For every one person to donate it benefits three people. Ms.
Lane and Ms.Cvelbar have been doing the blood drive for three years but it’s been
going on longer than that.
A Blood Drive is an activity where people donate blood either to maintain a supply or in Response of shortage or emergency. At North we contribute to the Red Cross Blood Drive with the help of both Ms. Lane and Ms.Cvelbar.
For Ms. Lane to see students donating is good because it influences other students to donate and it makes them realize how important it is. “It’s for a great cause we just want students to realize that. Some students have realized this; we’ve broken a record having had 95 people Donate”
When I asked Ms. Lane about being involved in such a great cause and how it makes her feel she said it makes her feel great! While interviewing in Ms.Cvelbar I asked her why she joined the cause she opened up to the paper about her child who had leukemia and how helpful theses donations were to her and her son. “It just helps people and that’s the best feeling to know you helped someone live a little longer or live period.”
