EASTLAKE NORTH FALLS TO MUSTANGS
The city of Eastlake was let down when the 2-0 Rangers fell 34-9 to Maple Heights on September 11. It was a hard fought game for both teams, especially with the rain pouring down the entire game. Each side had their fair share of fumbles.
Maple Heights jumped up early in the first quarter, leading 28-3 at halftime. Eastlake North was handed their first loss of the season and Maple Heights climbed to three wins, undefeated.
“I think Maple Heights was the hardest game this year, I feel like they are the most well-coached.” Wide receiver Brandon Robinson says.
Kenny Uzarevic led the Rangers with one touchdown and a game-high of 122 yards. There’s no doubt that the senior running back has been greatly significant for North this season. With his abilities, he might even lead them to the playoffs for the first time in school history. Head coach, Shawn Dodd, says they have a long way to go, yet he is still hopeful.
“We had a really good week of practice, we look really good, we just gotta come out and beat them.” Quarterback Zane Bunnell adds.
Hopefully, the Rangers can make it 3-1 September 18.
