The Eastlake North Rangers fell to a disappointing to the Chardon Hilltoppers on September 18, 39-41. Kenny Uzarevic lead the Rangers with 132 yards and three touchdowns and quarterback Zane Bunnell threw for 192 yards and one touchdown. Eastlake fell to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the Western Reserve Conference.
Both teams played a fantastic game, no doubt, but there were a couple questionable calls that weren’t made, at least to some fans and players.
“There’s always some (dirty talk) on the field, it’s just teenagers being teenagers, you just gotta be the bigger man and step up.” Senior tightend Chris Province says.
The game slapped the Rangers in the face. With 1.1 seconds left, Eastlake went for a game winning field goal, and to everyone’s surprise, Chardon blocked it and won the game. It was an emotion time for North, especially because of the long way they’ve come this season. Last year, they finished 3-7 overall, winning the first two games and coming close to beating Chardon is a lot of hype.
They just need to put that drive on the field.
