Let’s reflect on the Browns season a little bit.
And ask any Clevelander, it was not pretty. Oh no, anything but pretty.
The Cleveland Browns finished their season with a record of 3-13 as many people predicted. But what they did not predict was all of the injuries, coaching problems, and absences they had to deal with this season.
Absences, you ask?
Even though concussed Johnny Manziel was ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Steelers, there was no rule saying that he had to be on the sidelines. In fact, players with concussions are encouraged to stay at home, avoid the light. Well, that was exactly the opposite of what Manziel. Per reports, Manziel had flown to Las Vegas after practice that morning and spent the night gambling and “clubbing” it up that night. So when Sunday came and Johnny Football was still responsible for treatment, he was nowhere to be found. Mike Pettine, when asked if the quarterback was in Las Vegas said, “I don’t know, I wasn’t.” Johnny Manziel was AWOL until January 4, when he told the trainers at treatment that he forgot he had it on Sunday. And that’s not even the worst of it.
Multiple reports showed later on that Johnny had disguised himself in Vegas. He wore a blonde wig, a hoodie, sunglasses and a faux mustache and called himself Billy. Sources say that “Billy” asked for his check to be comped because he had no cash and he did not want to use his card. But, at the end of the night he ended up paying with a card. The quarterback was supposedly seen soaking up the party atmosphere in Vegas at around 3am.
So who’s really telling the truth here? Maybe it’s time Jimmy Haslam put his foot down and find out
