First ever Snow Ball
By: Alex Golden and Paige Willhoite
North’s first ever Winter formal: The Snow Ball. The Snow Ball was held on February 26, 2016 in the commons from 7-10 pm. The ticket sales were more popular than what was expected. The turn- out was smaller than Homecoming but still was a big turn-out.
Once walking in from the side door by the gym, a breathalyzer test is given. Once passed, there were tables where the teachers were and gave them the ticket. The entrance to the dance floor was an archway with lights entangled around it. The middle of the room was clear and had snowflakes hanging from the ceiling. The side part of the room had: tables, chairs, the snacks and drink. The snacks were: red velvet cupcakes and cookies, and there was water available to get from a container.
The dance seemed to drag on for the first hour while everyone was still arriving, but once it was about 8, it got more enjoyable. The music was not terrible. We got to request songs just like at Homecoming. Unlike Homecoming, there were more old songs being played and the music was uncensored. Also The UnderDog made a guest appearance, and graced us with his live music. The songs were called “Big Risks” and “Lit”; you can find them on YouTube or buy them on ITunes.
More people came than was anticipated, so since it was a big turn-out, hopefully North will now have a winter formal every year!
