As reported on August 27, Johnny Manziel will likely sit out Saturday versus the
Buccaneers. Sources say the young quarterback has had issues with his elbow since high school,
but head coach, Mike Pettine, says he is not worried.
As if Manziel being out for his sore elbow wasn’t enough, he will also lose the starting
job to former Buccaneers quarterback, Josh McCown. According to Pettine, McCown has been
number one this whole time without him even saying it. Although, he tells sources that he will
not pick a starter until the league tells him he has to.
Johnny Manziel played seven quarters of football in the NFL last year. Unfortunately, his
draft was a bust. Former Browns’ quarterback Brian Hoyer stole the starting job as a veteran.
Johnny Manziel was the Browns’ twenty-first different quarterback they have had since the
year of 2000. Manziel’s seven quarters of football didn’t go so well, seeing that Pettine finally
had enough and put Hoyer in to rescue him.
At twenty-two years old, Manziel had some growing up to do. On Novemeber 28,
2014 Johnny was approached a “very intoxicated” fan and fought with the man. Suspicions rose
when the police reported the call around 2:30 a.m. Manziel claims that his mother was in town
and he was out visiting her all though, not everyone believed that story. It’s going to take a lot
for Manziel to prove himself to his viewers, and more importantly, the city of Cleveland.
