The season is finally here.
Basketball season.
Eastlake North basketball will definitely have some challenges this year, especially losing seniors Sean Grady and Jack Petrecca, who scored most of the teams points. The Rangers finished their season with a record of 10-9, which isn’t bad. Sadly, they were knocked out of the tournament by a tough Maple Heights team in the first round. But the Rangers are coming back with hopefully some fire this season. Keep an eye out for aggressive point guard Travis Picquet this season most definitely. Another player to watch may be Charlie Finucan, who can hit an outside three shot.
“With the new conference, I think it’s (the season) gonna be tough. With the new teams coming in, and we got a young team. But we’re looking good so far.” Senior Travis Picquet says.
The conference is most certainly tough, such as Mayfield, Willoughby South and Brush. Even North’s non-conference games are pretty tough including John Marshall and Euclid. Basketball season may be nail-biting to watch this year as an Eastlake North fan.
The Ranger opened up their season at West Geauga on November 28 with a gritty loss 53-38. Hopefully that doesn’t predict their season. After the promising football team let down the city of Eastlake with a 3-7 record, fans are definitely hoping for something good to come out of North. Basketball just may be the sport that can put on a show. There’s no doubt the boys play with passion for the game, and this year they just might be able to apply that to a conference title. It’s going to take a lot of hard work, but to North, that’s not foreign.
Come out and support your Eastlake North Rangers this year!
