NORTH RUNS PAST NORMANDY
On September 4, the Rangers took on the Normandy Invaders. Eastlake took control of the game early in the first quarter and never let it go. Ever since Coach Dodd moved to Eastlake North, they have a significantly better team. The final score was a whopping 41-6.
“Um, I don’t know, I think, we haven’t done this since our freshman year, it’s a lot of fun.” Senior running back Kenny Uzaveric says of the experience of going 2-0.
Eastlake fans are still in a daze from their win over Westlake with a 45 yard field goal. The county is definitely shocked by this sudden change in football. It’s different for the school to get so much attention. Sometimes, people even let it get to their heads. But offensive guard Logan Shreeves doesn’t feel like that will happen.
“It’s a lot of fun. I mean, it’s a lot of pressure, you know, with the newspaper and the TV stations, but if we just stick together we’ll be fine.”
The Rangers take on 2-0 Maple Heights on September 11, who most of the players think will be the toughest game of the year. No doubt, the team will need to step up and play harder than ever before. Nose tackle Dillon Rohm says that every game from here on out will be tough, but Maple Heights will be one of the toughest easily.
And that he is right.
