Where it counts the most

Believe it or not, we are about half way through high school basketball season already, excluding tournament games.
Eastlake North is now 4-7, after celebrating a much needed win over the Chardon Hilltoppers, 61-44. The Rangers led almost the whole game as far as 20 points at a time. After losing their past 5 home games prior to Chardon, North needed a booster. And that’s just what they got. Travis Picquet led the team with 19 points, followed closely by Kyle Andrewscik with 14 points. Picquet and Andrewscik will definitely come up big for North this year, as they try to rally themselves into the tournament. Although challenging, they should be able to pull it out especially with what Picquet’s speed and Andrewscik’s height has to offer.
“We’re getting better every game, by then (tournament season) we should be good.” Travis Picquet says.
The Rangers have a lot to work on in these next ten games, but they should be able to manage. This is where it counts the most after all. You could enter the tournament with a record of 6-15, and end up winning the district finals. Honestly, the playoffs or tournaments sometimes aren’t really about how good the team fared in the season. Sometimes it’s about which teams are “hot” and playing well at the moment. Hopefully, by then North will be able to create a chemistry between themselves.
But who knows, basketball is always full of surprises.
