Week 10.
The long awaited Week 10.
Week 10- the week of football right before the playoffs. It is known for the excitement it brings for the playoffs to players and fans.
Sadly, this definition of Week 10 doesn’t fit Eastlake North.
The Madison Blue Streaks defeated the Rangers on October 30, 47-13. Actually, instead of the happy atmosphere that usually comes with Week 10 football, it was a depressing and cold one. Eastlake North was finally blessed with a new conference, new coach, and their double-threat quarterback Zane Bunnell. But they ended their season with the same record as last year, 3-7.
“The offense put up some points, and the defense pushed but Madison was tough.” Sophomore Kenny Streb said, with a sigh.
Looking back on previous weeks, North had a fun season. Even with their losses. They went to an overtime game, one game where they lost by a field goal, and another game they lost by a touchdown. It wasn’t a blow-out season and for that, many people are pleased with the 2015-2016 Ranger Football Team. Maybe next year the Rangers can come out and make the playoffs. Maybe next year, they could even defeat Willoughby South.
But sometimes you get tired of saying next year, year after year, after year…
