what a game

The North vs. South football game might have been intense this year, but nothing was more intense than the Civil War basketball game.
On January 12, the Willoughby South Rebels traveled to the home of the Eastlake North Rangers for an intense Border Battle. South took the win on this one, defeating North 47-46. But they did not blow North out by any means, North with the lead in some points of the game. For the last minute of the game, fans stood to their feet, praying for North to hold on. But South rallied back to shoot a game winning three shot. Everyone, the whole gymnasium was crushed. And yet again, they were forced to calmly and respectfully take their seats and accept the loss. But North’s senior point guard Travis Picquet has other things on his mind. He’s wallowing over this loss, oh no. He’s fired up to get to their home court and take them on.
“We’re gonna kick their butts.” He says, when asked about the next South game.
Too bad for North, they have never been privileged school when it came to sports. Only a few times have they ever been good at football, going 9-1 in the ‘90’s and 7-3 in 2003. As for basketball, they have never had a horrible team, but it has never been spectacular either, not being able to compete in the higher tournament games. This season could show a lot of promise for North, and if they try hard enough maybe even bring a conference title. That would do them some good, especially with all of the heartache they’ve experienced in the past few years. As a North fan, boy wouldn’t it be good to see another conference title year up on that flag. Or even taking it a step farther and going for the gold, the state champions.
Maybe someday, maybe someday
