On September 7, Ohio State met again with the only team thatdefeated them last year, Virginia Tech. Quarterback Cardale Jones got the start and it came to as much as a surprise to him as it did to the fans.
“Honestly, we both went out in the huddle on the first play,” Jones tells sources of him and sophomore J.T Barret, “We didn’t know, I was taking a couple steps to the sideline and Meyer was like, ‘No, your in.’ When you found out, I found out.”
Cardale threw 10 for 19 with 2 touchdowns and 189 yards. With Joey Bosa and Brandon Marshall not there to assist the Buckeye’s in their win, the first half was rough. Virginia Tech took the lead before halftime 17-14. But with help from Cardale Jones, running back Ezekiel Elliot, and wide receiver Braxton Miller, the Buckeye’s took control of the game and won the first of the season.
Braxton Miller dropped jaws for his first time at wide receiver. He looked like he had been playing the position his entire life. After leaving last season due to injury, he came back at wide receiver, coming from last year as quarterback, ready as ever. Fans describe Miller as electric.
The Buckeye’s are simply amazing.
And hopefully their talent can lead them to another National Championship.
