The navy seal
by: joshua boughton
In no disrespect to the army in general, I write this voicing what I think. You may have heard how a navy seal is now taking credit for killing Osama bin laden.
His name is Robert ‘O’ Neil. O’Neil originally wrote that he killed Bin Laden in Esquire magazine with no name. Later he was identified by an unknown source on a military blog. It was later confirmed that he did take part in the raid but was the second shooter in the room. There is no way to actually tell if his bullet killed Bin Laden.
Mark Owens also has a recount of what happened, but the difference is that he went through the pentagon and got approval for the book to be released that Robert ‘O’ Neil did not kill him. I won’t say that he killed Osama or not, but the possibility is high because of his fellow seal was in the room too.
Now if he was upstairs alone, which in army standards is a big mistake and a huge risk of getting KIA (Killed in Action), then I could believe that he shot Osama. The Seals also have a code that they shall not seek recognition for the things that they have done.
There are some unanswered questions, like: why did he wait until now to come forward? Why not say to Mark Owens, “add me into the book because I know that I shot and killed him.”
The story is still developing and is ongoing at this point in time. The time that this article is released, Rob will be labeled as a hoax or truth but who knows. It is a crazy world out there. Maybe he really did shoot him, and we are not believing him.
The other side of the coin is that he didn’t kill Osama and is just seeking some attention over the matter.
