Anxiety is something that affects me, you, and 40 million other people in the United States. Anxiety is a feeling of nervousness or being uneasy. It can also cause people to worry about or be unsure about things that they shouldn’t be worrying or unsure about. Although anxiety is incurable there are ways to cope with it.
Things like exercising, watching a movie, writing, or walking, can distract you and something that can benefit you. Anything that helps you not think about it. I have a best friend who really struggles with anxiety and talking to me also helps. If you find can someone or already know someone who makes you laugh they can be big help when you feel anxious.
“When I feel anxious I feel like everything is wrong. I feel nervous scared an even jittery.” When people get anxiety attacks they feel as though there body is being taken over. “It feels like I’m on edge lost in my what if question”. When I feel anxious I have questions in my head like “what if people laugh at me or judge me” or people like my bestfriend have questions in her head like “ what if there was something on that lip balm and something happens to my lip”. Those questions are from your anxious mind messing and making you overact and that’s what you need to remember when you start to get your “what if questions”.
Just remember you’re not alone there’s always someone out there who understands you. You could find and go to group activities with people who struggle with anxiety. You could talk to a parent or guardian and ask if there is someone in your family who has anxiety. Just stay strong and keep on keeping on!
