Tips to Easy and Breezy Holiday Shopping
By: Madeline Patrick
The holidays seem to be starting even earlier than usual this year. The Christmas movies began playing the day after Halloween, and Christmas movies mean it is time for Christmas shopping. Black Friday and cyber Monday have come and gone, but don’t fret. Check out some of these stores and tips for your holiday shopping needs.
Wal-Mart is staring their roll back specials and free Christmas shipping on their online stores. Wal-Mart is open 24 hours every day. Amazon is offering two deals a day on its most popular items from now until December 22. If you haven’t started shopping yet then you should as soon as possible.
The mall is full of people during the holiday season. It will be hard to get what you want if you go at a busy time, so instead go right after school or early on the weekends. The Great Lakes mall hours during the holidays range from 10am - 9pm to 10am - 8pm. Also, do not forget about coupons. Sign up with the stores to get emailed coupons and look for them in your newspapers too. You don’t want to be broke after the holidays, so use those coupons.
If you don’t have hundreds of dollars to buy Christmas gifts for your whole family then homemade gifts are a great go to, like the ones you made in elementary school. Hit up the Pinterest app to get some ideas. You can make coupons for your mom that say things like: “good for one vacuuming”, or “one free dinner making”. You could also get simple gifts like makeup or a shirt for your sister or buy a new soccer ball for you brother. And don’t forget about gift cards! Your dad would probably appreciate a gift card to Lowes or Home Depot. If you are unsure what your family wants for Christmas, then just ask.
Christmas is one the most wonderful times of the year so don’t forget to enjoy it by getting your Christmas shopping done early. Do not wait until the day before Christmas when everything is closed. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
