Volunteers club reaches out to
schools and the communities on a regular basis.
On average volunteers club have 2-3 activities a week. All activities
can be done in a group or individually to your comfortably. There is a president and vice-president
holding it together. Their names are Colin Baca and Patrick Price. There are over 150 members including freshmen,
juniors, sophomores, and even seniors! It consists of board members who are
in charge including Jennifer Schendel.
There’s a lot going on this October with having an activity every single Saturday. One activity is Make A Difference Day that is held twice a year for the seniors in the community. Then the students are fed lunch after a long day. Another activity is a board member sleepover where you also get fed dinner! A lot of members love doing dinners at Hospice, on Sunday nights 5 times a year. They even serve in the summer and every Easter Sunday! Hospice is where people are terminally ill.
The volunteers club now has a twitter page @NHSVolunteers. Jennifer Schendel, the teacher who is in charge says, “I love this club it gives us the opportunity to interact with the school and the community in a positive way!” She would love to have even more people interested to be a part of the activities in volunteers club.
