1.)Location: Cleveland Museum of Art
Activity: Exploring the Art Museum
Cost: FREE
- The Cleveland Museum of Art is a beautiful place. It is completely free and is a great way to spend your afternoon. The surrounding area is just as beautiful with a pond and fountain. The cultural gardens are within walking distance along with the Botanical Gardens.
- Make a scavenger hunt with art from the museum. Non-flash photography is allowed so make a list of art pieces that participants must take pictures with. First to finish wins.
2.)Location: Beach/ Park
Activity: Beach/ Park Clean Up
Cost: Garbage bags: $6.02, Sterile Gloves: $5.97
- Although it may seem like more work than fun, it is a great way to help the environment while getting outside and enjoying the warm weather. Grab a group of friends and head to the nearest beach or park. Help protect wildlife while making your community cleaner.
3.)Location: Cleveland Metroparks Zoo
Activity: Visiting the Zoo
Cost: $14.25
- The zoos open all year round, except December 25 and January 1, so get out there this spring and visit all the cool animals. You can even plan an overnight visit ($39 per person, must have at least 6 attendees).
- You can adopt the above idea of a scavenger hunt from above but replace art with animals. A list of the organisms at the zoo is available at their website: http://www.clevelandmetroparks.com/Zoo/Zoo.aspx
- If you are interested in working with animals, their high school career day is Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. For more info visit: http://www.clevelandmetroparks.com/Zoo/Events-and-Happenings/Career-Day-High-School-8455.aspx
4.)Location: The Lake View Cemetery
Activity: A Walk in the Cemetery
Cost: FREE (unless attending an event)
- As strange and morbid as it may sound, a walk through this cemetery will send chills down your spine. This beautiful and historical site makes for a great adventure. Just remember to be respectful because it is a real burial site.
- View the amazing architecture that people visit from all over the world to see.
- Visit the graves of historical figures, such as, James A. Garfield and John D. Rockefeller.
5.)Location: Great Lakes Science Center
Activity: science
Cost: $15
- Check out Cleveland’s very own science center.
- Hands on activities, and Omnimax Theater, and a special exhibit that regularly changes are available for an extra admission fee.
