Willoughby-Eastlake Schools Name Change
By: Paige Willhoite
Since 1957, North High school has been known as Eastlake. Mayor Bonde decided it would be better to include Willowick in the title changing the name to Willowick-Eastlake.
Most of the students that attend North come from Willowick middle. They recently changed their school colors to black and orange. They also re-named themselves “little rangers”. After Willowick parted from Willoughby, Willowick was not included in the school district. Willowick tried for a Willowick high school but lost by one vote.
I think it wouldn’t be the best choice because people would still call it Eastlake and they would have to redo buses and websites.
Students in school now won’t see the school name change, but the board is going over pros and cons of it.
